Once a general direction was decided, line drawings that approximated the overall dimensions of the golf-cart, and an elephant profile over that cart, were created in Illustrator. These vector drawings were then converted to a 3D model using SketchUp. With a fairly accurate representation of dimensions and proportions, image files of various views were exported from SketchUp. These images were roughly traced and served as the basis for additional design sketches and ultimately as a guide when starting the elephant shell build.
