BigDog with Flame Effect

These vehicles were designed for use on the flat and typically hard packed dry lake bed surface where the annual Burning Man festival is held. The primary mode of transportation at Burning Man is by bicycle, pedal vehicle or, motorized vehicles that have been "mutated". Pedal vehicles seen there inspired the design and build of the Boxer, BigDog and DogSled. Additional inspiration and influence came from Kinetic Sculpture Racers. These are multi-person pedal vehicles that are raced over road, sand, mud and water. Kinetic Sculpture Races are held in northern California, Philadelphia and Baltimore.
